International collaborations
Thanks to the international collaborations of the members of the Doctoral Board, the educational offerings of the Doctoral program can benefit from contacts and exchanges with significant academic institutions in Europe and overseas. It is possible to obtain the title of Doctor Europeus.
Indeed, important international collaborations have been developed over the years, particularly on certain research themes such as:
• Development and application of technologically advanced devices, including those of biological composition or origin, for the measurement, support, or replacement of the function of cells, tissues, and organs in medical and surgical diseases.
• Translational medicine and dysregulation of the immune response in the context of oncological and infectious diseases.
• Development and "theranostic" function of technologically advanced imaging and phenotyping platforms in the prevention of neoplasms.
• Advanced and innovative strategies for recovery and functional rehabilitation in the prevention or presence of infections, neoplasms, and chronic diseases.
The universities and research centers where these collaborations are active, contributing to the projects and thus to the educational offerings of the doctorate, are located both in Europe and North America:
• Imperial College London, National Heart and Lung Institute, London
• Gustave Roussy Institute, Paris
• Vall d'Hebron Institute of Oncology (VHIO), Barcelona
• INSERM, Centre de Recherche en Cancérologie de Lyon
• Vaccine Research Institute, Paris
• Department of Information Technology and Electrical Engineering, ETH Zurich
• Universitätklinikum Freiburg
• Charité Universitätsmedizin Berlin
• Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center, New York
• MD Anderson Cancer Center, Houston
• Lowe Center for Thoracic Oncology, Dana-Farber Cancer Institute, Boston
Additionally, collaborations are ongoing with pharmaceutical companies that have contributed funding to research activities:
• SANOFI Research to Care Grant (Paris)
• Research grant from Eli Lilly (Indianapolis, USA)
• Research grant from AstraZeneca (USA)
