The training programme
The training programme consists of frontal teaching and exercise activities aimed at acquiring basic knowledge in:
- biomedical and health promotion areas;
- psycho-pedagogical and social areas;
- socio-health professional education areas;
- sociology and human rights areas;
- interdisciplinary linguistic and IT areas.
In addition, the course includes internship activities in external health and socio-educational facilities to practice and verify the skills acquired. More specifically, the degree consists of three years that give rise to the 180 credits required to obtain the final qualification:
- 1st year: provides the student with basic pedagogical and health knowledge, which are the fundamentals of the professional discipline and the prerequisites for the first internship experience to guide students in the professional environment. Internships in psychiatric therapy communities, drug addictions and disabilities contexts are provided for orientation purposes.
- 2nd year: focusing on in-depth clinical knowledge and professional rehabilitation skills in the fields of psychiatry and drug addiction. The student will gain access to rehabilitation communities for drug addicts; residential and semi-residential communities for patients with mild or medium-severe psychiatric problems; semi-residential centres for users with medium-severe disabilities.
- 3rd year: specialisation year, also aimed at acquiring of methodological knowledge for professional practice and the ability to work in a team; the student experiences a gradual assumption of responsibility under the supervision of experts.
