Learning objectives
The course aims to provide students with the following:
Knowledge and understanding: to enable students to understand the causes of gynecological diseases and the mechanisms through which they act.
Applying knowledge and making judgements: through the discussion of clinical cases, students will be encouraged to develop autonomy and critical thinking skills in identifying problems and proposing applicable solutions in clinical practice and within their own professional context.
Communication skills: to develop communication and learning abilities that facilitate effective interaction with colleagues.
Provide information on the methods of prevention of gynecological cancers in light of the most recent scientific advances, with particular focus on breast and ovarian cancer.
Provide knowledge regarding the organizational and healthcare management approaches of the national health system in this field.
Provide students with the knowledge necessary for the early diagnosis of cervical cancer, with particular focus on:
Cervicovaginal screening pathways
Interpretation and management of test results
Updates on screening programs for female oncological diseases (breast and ovarian cancer)
Provide knowledge about benign gynecological conditions, including:
Pelvic inflammatory disease (PID): diagnosis and treatment
Endometriosis: diagnostic approach, therapeutic principles, and the importance of diagnostic-therapeutic pathways for the management of complex pathologies
Uterine fibroids (myomas): diagnosis and clinical evaluation, therapeutic principles, and implications for pregnancy and fertility
Provide knowledge on the main surgical procedures performed on the breast.
