Career prospects

The main objective of the PhD in Biotechnology and Biosciences is to train researchers with multidisciplinary skills in the field of new biomolecular technologies and, more generally, in the 'Life Sciences'. These skills are applicable in various areas of both applied and basic research, offering multiple career opportunities in academia, public or private non-academic research institutions, and companies, including advanced biomedical research and molecular diagnostics, as well as in genetics, genomics, biochemistry, agri-food, and environmental sectors. The research activities carried out by PhD students throughout the three-year programme, including significant exposure to international experiences and initiatives, will provide them with a broad and cross-cutting view of cutting-edge scientific issues, equipping them with the ability to address these independently by identifying and applying the most effective and current experimental strategies.
