Quality assurance

Ensuring Quality is an essential process that involves all individuals within the University, where each individual’s progress benefits the entire institution and fosters the healthy dialogue that is necessary to make the social role of the University both effective and tangible.

‘QUALITY ASSURANCE’ means:

Defining quality policies in alignment and synergy with the strategic directions of the University and establishing reliable and robust procedures through which the governing bodies can implement them;
Implementing activities to ensure the effectiveness and efficiency of all internal processes within the University, with primary focus on the quality of education and research;
Raising awareness among all those working within the University, ensuring that each task is carried out competently and promptly, services provided are effective, and proper records are maintained to monitor and measure outcomes.

At the end of each academic year, the Coordinator collects reports on the work carried out and detailed reports outlining the educational and training activities, publications, and conference participations. This material forms an integral part of the documentation on which admission to subsequent years and the final exam are based.

Starting from the 37th cohort, students are invited to complete the OPIS questionnaires at the end of the first and second years, with a series of questions about their experience in Parma and at external institutions. The participation of representatives, one per cohort, in the College meetings is another way to gather and present the opinions and needs of the students.

The Doctoral Programme has established a Review Group that will follow the procedures related to quality assurance in both educational and organisational aspects.
