Learning objectives
The Bachelor aims to enable the student to know and to understand the essential elements of clinical and instrumental diagnosis of deafness.The student must acquire the ability to use knowledge and understanding in order to interpret the different clinical pictures, with particular attention to the differential diagnosis of hearing loss and its rehabilitation.

Course unit content
The first lessons discuss anatomy and physiology of the auditory and vestibular systems. Subsequently, the lessons are aimed to deepen clinical semiotics and instrumental of the auditory apparatus focusing on the classification of hearing loss and the differential diagnosis of deafness, through the diagnostic audiological instrumental (liminal tonal audiometry, speech audiometry, impedance, otoacoustic emissions, Auditory Evoked Potentials). It tackles, then, by means of auditory rehabilitation and prosthesis implantable hearing aid, cochlear implant a auditory brainstem implant.

Teaching methods
The course will be held through lectures.
