Learning objectives
By the end of the course, students will be able to:
- demonstrate a good knowledge of some of the main theoretical models and methodologies related to psychological well-being in school;
- demonstrate the ability of analyzing and understanding the school context with regard to some f the main aspects related to psychological well-being, such as motivation, participation and school climate;
- demonstrate the ability to design intervention projects related to the discussed aspects, with attention to instruments and methods;
- critically reflect on the course themes and communicate the acquired knowledge with clarity and competence.

Course unit content
The course will discuss theories and methodologies of intervention for the improvement of psychological well-being within the school context. Topics of discussion will include specific theoretical and methodological approaches to understanding psychological processes in school and specific areas of intervention related to both individual and contextual features of the learning environment, with attention to instruments and methods. Among these areas, attention will be given to aspects such as emotion and motivation, active participation, quality of relationships and teaching, school climate. The course will also focus on fostering soft skills such as the ability to use theoretical concept to understand real processes, to design projects e to use instruments for the assessment and intervention in school.

Teaching methods
The course will be given in presence. The lessons will alternate moments of transmissive teaching with spaces dedicated to students’ active participation using cues for discussion and practical individual or group activities, including the analysis of measures and real projects. Slides, other didactic materials, and useful information will be posted on the platform Elly shortly before or after class. Students are encouraged to frequently check the platform for new information.
Assessment methods and criteria
The exam will consist of a written test. The test will include open-answer elaborative questions related to areas of intervention for educational psychology in the school context and the specific aspects discussed in class. More detailed information will be given and discussed during the course and shared on the Elly website.
