Learning objectives
The Course of Otolaryngology IV is part of the Integrated Course of Hearing VI and aims to enable the student to know and understand the essentials of the major neoplastic diseases of the pontocerebellar angle, in particular the acoustic neuroma and Neurofibromatosis 2 students must acquire the ability to use knowledge and understanding in the use of different methods audiometric the aim of providing a proper diagnostic imaging. Furthermore, the ability to use the knowledge and understanding should enable the student to orient himself in the indications in the management of the Auditory brainstem Implant.

Course unit content
The course aims to address the fundamental aspects of instrumental diagnostic audiological and possible prosthetic rehabilitation in neoplastic disease of the pontocerebellar cerebellare. The topics of the lectures are therefore mainly directed to the study of acoustic neuromas and neurofibromatosis 2, in addition to notes on the other neoplastic diseases of the pontocerebellar angle. In particular, they face issues of epidemiology, symptomatology, diagnostic audiometric instrumental, surgical therapy. The second part of the course is devoted to the discussion of the Auditory brainstem Implant , describing the functional characteristics, indications, strategies electrophysiological intra and post-operative and its diversification towards the Cochlear Implant.

Teaching methods
Lectures will be held on-site in compliance with safety standards, provided that further instructions on the ongoing health emergency are not implemented. Supporting material will be available on the specific, student-reserved platform (Elly) and will include slide presentations, audio-video aids or video-recording of the lectures.
Assessment methods and criteria
Oral examination. In case of the persistence of the health emergency, the exams will be conducted remotely, as follows:
remote oral questions, through the Teams platform (guide http://selma.unipr.it/).
Students with SLD / BSE must first contact Le Eli-che: support for students with disabilities, D.S.A., B.E.S. (https://sea.unipr.it/it/servizi/le-eli-che-supporto-studenti-con-disabilita-dsa-bes)
In the verification phase, the student must demonstrate knowledge and understanding of the fundamentals of the major neoplastic diseases of the pontocerebellar angle, and above all have the knowledge and understanding to formulate a precise plan instrumental diagnostic audiology. It must also demonstrate that they have mastered the basic elements that characterize the system Auditory brainstem Implant from the point of view electrophysiological.
