Learning objectives

The student should learn the basics of nursing research and evidence-based care. He/she should be able to undertake a literature review through the search engines of major databases, using the methodologies taught. He/she should acquire and apply the knowledge necessary for the development of his/her own thesis project.

Course unit content

Research history. Qualitative and quantitative studies. The pyramid of evidence. IMRAD method. PRISMA. Consultation of major databases. How to conduct a literature review. Rapid Evidence Assessment.
Scoping Review. Case Reports. Critical Appraisal. How to write a thesis. PICO. Developing a Project Work. How to create the thesis project.
