Learning objectives

The major aim of the course is to provide the basic archival and bibliographic tools to face the preliminary analysis of the architectural project (first Dublin Descriptor). To achieve this aim it’s necessary to always use multiple approaches and different methods of analysis (second Dublin Descriptor). Undergraduate should be able: to use the acquired knowledge to make personal and mature judgements (third Dublin Descriptor); to use the appropriate technical language (fourth Dublin Descriptor); to establish logical connections between theoretical notions and operational tools in the archival and bibliographic field (fifth Dublin Descriptor).

Prerequisites

Course unit content

During their last year, students who choose the "Analysis and project for the recuperation of the built" curriculum deal again with historical subjects to improve their instruments of critical analysis and historiographical synthesis, in view of the end of the three-year course. The course aims to give some critical and operational tools for the any bibliographic or archival research preliminary to an architecture project.
