Why in Parma?

The second-cycle degree in Medical, Veterinary and Pharmaceutical Biotechnologies aims to train graduates who can enter the job market with an original curriculum and geared up in terms of professional skills.

Held in Parma, the course offers students three curricula:

  •     biotechnology for prevention and therapy
  •     biotechnologies applied to animal production and food safety;
  •     biotechnologies applied to regenerative and restorative medicine.

The main feature of the course is the acquisition of the skills, knowledge and communication abilities required both for access to higher education and for entering the world of work.

Data show that three years after graduation 90% of those surveyed have found employment, 41% are engaged in university courses or an internship and 54% recognised the effectiveness of the degree in the work they are currently performing.

The biotechnologist has increasingly close contacts with the production sectors, as their competences include the promotion and development of scientific and technological innovation in applied contexts of human and animal health, insertion in production facilities in diagnostics and pharmaceuticals, management of services in biotechnological laboratories within private and public health facilities.

Career opportunities include:

  •     biotechnologist;
  •     university researcher;
  •     researcher, laboratory manager, consultant in pharmaceutical companies, public health facilities and private laboratories, biotechnology companies.
