Interaction with the production system, public bodies, and national and international research institutes has allowed the planning and organization of the course so that the skills acquired by PhD students are applicable in the workplace; the teaching and research activities have therefore been aimed at transferring skills for innovation and employability in the socio-economic system and in research. This is reflected in the number of PhD scholarships funded by companies, foreign research institutions, and the Region. Since 2011, periodic meetings have been organized with the production system as part of the "C'è Chimica tra noi-A Parma" event and the "Researchers' Night," during which numerous companies have met to discuss the expectations and demands of the labor market. These meetings serve to increase job opportunities for PhD students.
