Description and educational objectives
The PhD programme in Psychology has the following aims:
- to train researchers who are able to design and carry out basic and applied research in clinical, social, educational, health care and organisational contexts;
- to develop advanced methodological skills and complex analytical models relevant to the various fields of psychological research;
- to train highly qualified researchers who will be able to work in both academic and professional environments, in both the public and private sectors. In particular, PhD students will be able both to carry out basic research and to transfer their acquired scientific knowledge to the professional environment and to the various institutions/companies/research centres (also based on the PNRR guidelines);
- to encourage the acquisition of soft skills aimed at presenting and critically discussing one's own research, methods and results in the Italian and international scientific community;
- to promote the knowledge about the deontology and ethics of scientific research in the field of psychology, with particular emphasis on best scientific practices and intellectual property protection mechanisms;
- to develop skills aimed at scientific publication: writing scientific articles, accessing databases, systematic literature analysis methods, complex statistical analysis models, data discussion;
- to train researchers with an agentic competence in various directions: European planning, organisation of scientific events, co-construction of international partnerships and Third mission/Public Engagement.
