Learning objectives
The course aims to introduce the first concepts of organizational management in healthcare. In this perspective, the intention is to provide minimal but fundamental elements for understanding the labor market and the first level of the organization in which one enters with the achievement of the title of Midwife.
The educational objective of this course is to build conceptual bridges between the foundations of obstetric discipline and the needs of health organizational systems in pursuit of the common health objectives between the National Health System and the obstetric profession, as well as the health professions in general.
Prerequisites
Basic concepts of health economics and business organization.
Course unit content
The course analyzes assistance in relation to the public health system: the professional's entry into work and the health organization; the methods of applying the competences of the health profession within the National and Regional programs; nature and duties of the Professional Orders.
Full programme
The synthesis of the concepts relating to the NHS, to corporateization, to the structure as an exoskeleton of the organization - Departments, Operating Units, PDTA.
Elaboration of the concepts that link the profession and the organization. Assistance planning (assessment-diagnosis-planning) as a conceptual basis for the organization of services.

Teaching methods
Lectures, interactive and group work. Slides and audiovisual material.
The lessons will take place in the presence, in compliance with safety standards, except for further provisions due to the possible continuation of the health emergency. The teaching material will be deposited on the specific platform with access reserved for students (Elly) and will include iconographic presentations, audio-video support or video recording of the lessons.
Assessment methods and criteria
The assessment of the achievement of the learning objectives involves evaluation by means of an oral / written exam, with respect to the content covered. In particular, through questions about topics related to the course content, it will be ascertained whether the student has achieved the goal of knowledge and understanding of the contents, and whether he is able to apply the knowledge acquired in the exercise of the profession. The ascertained serious difficulty in answering the questions, or in demonstrating at least an elementary knowledge of the topics covered by the learning assessment, will result in failure to pass the exam. If the exam is passed, a judgment will be formulated that will contribute to the final grade of the Integrated Course which, based on the achievement of the overall objectives, will be expressed out of thirty.
