Career prospects
Second-cycle graduates in Genomic, Molecular and Industrial Biotechnologies will be able to carry out research activities in Italy and abroad in both academic and non-academic settings in a variety of application areas. The main professional outlets for Second-cycle graduates in Genomic, Molecular and Industrial Biotechnologies will be:
- Research laboratories in the chemical-pharmaceutical-biomolecular field at universities and public and private (Italian and foreign) research centres, such as the laboratories of the Council for Agricultural Research and Analysis of Agricultural Economics (CREA), the CNR and the Zooprophylactic Institutes.
- Research, production and quality control laboratories at (Italian and foreign) companies operating in the biotechnologies, pharmaceutical, agri-food and environmental sectors.
- Production and control facilities in the biotechnologies field with special reference to bio-industry, chemical-biological diagnostics, environmental protection and the agro-food industry.
- Services in areas related to industrial biotechnology, such as laboratories for analysis, certification and biological control, and environmental monitoring centres within public facilities of the National Health Service.
Given the transversal and multidisciplinary nature of the knowledge they have acquired, graduates in Genomic, Molecular and Industrial Biotechnologies will be able to perform coordination functions between different production sectors in companies and research institutions, as well as activities for the promotion, dissemination and development of scientific and technological innovation in various application contexts.
