Assistance and agreements for international mobility
For information, please contact the President of the Course of Studies [ludovico.cademartiri@unipr.it].
The University of Parma offers all its students various opportunities to promote the development of a real international dimension of university study. From exchanges in Europe through the Erasmus Plus Program to extra-European mobility with the Overworld Program.
Updated information regarding international mobility opportunities can be found on this university page.
For the recognition of CFU obtained at foreign universities, within the framework of Erasmus or other mobility agreements, reference is made to the most recent regulations and guidelines issued by the University. The procedure for Erasmus exchanges and other mobility programs (Overworld, special exchange projects, Summer School), requires that the student who wins the scholarship submits a regular Learning Agreement Before Mobility in good time. To compile this, in collaboration with the Erasmus and Overworld delegates and with the internationalization tutors, the student must submit the exam plan or the internship program/project to the International Mobility Commission of the Department and U.O. Internationalization for approval. It is emphasized that approval is granted not on the basis of the mere nominal correspondence between the curricular activities and those that the student intends to follow abroad but on the basis of the actual correspondence and coherence of the latter with the objectives of the Degree Course.
At the end of the experience, the student delivers the original Transcript of Records or Learning Agreement After Mobility to the Erasmus offices and, after regular validation, this is submitted to the International Mobility Commission of the Department, which provides for the recognition and validation of the activities carried out during the mobility as well as the conversion of the grades as established by the tables prepared by the University. The Council of the Degree Course receives the documentation and ratifies the validations at the Secretariats. For courses entirely replaced by activities carried out abroad, the name of the course in Italian will appear on the study plan, specifying that it was taken during mobility. For courses that have no equivalent at the University, the original title in a foreign language will appear.
For the internship carried out abroad, if the foreign University does not include the official registration with grade and number of credits in the Transcript of Records or in the Learning Agreement After Mobility, the student must provide a letter on headed paper from the foreign professor with whom he/she carried out the internship, in order to certify the attendance and the learning results. During the period of studies and internship abroad, it is possible to carry out study and research activities in preparation for the final exam/degree thesis. In these cases, for the discussion of the thesis it is necessary to nominate a supervisor within the Degree Course or in any case from the Department in which the Course is based.
