Perché a Parma?

The Bachelor’s degree in “Global Studies for Sustainable Local and International Development and Cooperation” is an international course, taught in English, which aims to equip students with the fundamental knowledge and methodological tools needed to analyse, understand, manage and illustrate the complex dynamics related to international cooperation and social and territorial development, both locally and internationally.

This training aims to prepare professionals who can address the complex and dynamic challenges of international cooperation and make a significant contribution to initiatives and projects that promote sustainable development and global equity.

This approach is characterised by inclusiveness and participation of the communities targeted by interventions, as well as the management of contexts characterised by high levels of diversity and interculturalism.

Teaching is highly innovative: all courses use a teaching methodology that integrates face-to-face (characterised by interactivity) and distance learning modes. Through a specific e-learning platform, this methodology allows the management of teaching activities (e.g. multimedia lectures and tutoring) in both asynchronous and synchronous modes.

Teaching is organised in integrated courses or clusters, within which each course is divided into 3 CFU modules, thus ensuring the progressive acquisition of the skills required by the outgoing professional figure. Each integrated teaching/cluster includes a final assessment test which, together with the acquisition of CFUs, issues a milestone badge certifying the student’s progress and achievement of objectives.

Dopo la laurea

The highly multidisciplinary nature of the programme allows for flexibility in employment opportunities.

The knowledge and skills acquired will be useful for working in both public and private organisations at local, national and international levels. Graduates will be able to work as project managers, both in activities directly related to international cooperation and development, and in projects requiring administrative and management skills in multicultural and diversity contexts, as well as in international relations.

They will also be able to deal with communication and the organisation of public events aimed at improving cooperation, development and the promotion of cultural, commercial and political exchanges at international level.

The Course also prepares students for careers more directly related to international planning and cooperation and socio-economic development, with a thematic focus on issues related to agricultural production, ecology and international migration.

The programme also prepares for intercultural mediation and conflict prevention, mitigation and resolution. Equipped with knowledge of language, culture, history, as well as psychology, social and occupational psychology and gender studies, graduates will have the skills to work in contexts at the intersection of cultures and histories, as well as where conflict is present.
