Learning objectives

Making students autonomous:
- In handling and assisting the postural passages of patients
- In carrying out the intervention with the correct level of assistance
- In carrying out maneuvers in maximum safety for the patient and the operator
- In creating postures using the supports necessary for their correct maintenance
- In the use of major and minor aids

Course unit content

- Elements of biomechanics useful for understanding the maneuvers and how the operator must position himself
- Elements of biomechanics useful for carrying out grips and maneuvers for the correct mobilization of the patient
- Postural steps:
- Ascent of non-cooperating and partially cooperating patients in the bed
- How to posture a patient supine
- Displacement on the side of the non-cooperating and partially cooperating patient
- Posture on the side of the patient not cooperating and partially cooperating
- Supine-sitting passage with legs out of bed (Short sitting) of the partially cooperating patient
- Short sitting posture of the partially cooperating patient
- Posture in the cardiological chair of the uncooperative patient
- Bed-wheelchair passage of the partially cooperating patient
- Walking assistance to the partially cooperating patient
- Presentation and description of the use of major and minor aids

Teaching methods

Lessons take place through a theoretical introduction followed by a practical laboratory. in that place the maneuvers are illustrated and described with all the attention necessary for their safe implementation. Practical tests follow among the students under the supervision of the teacher

Assessment methods and criteria

Written exam through multiple choice quiz and structured objective clinical exam (OSCE)
