Integrated course unit module: GENERAL PATHOLOGY I AND IMMUNOLOGY

Learning objectives

The aim of the course is to make the student able to know and understand the main immunological mechanisms that are the basis of several diseases, to make a a correct diagnosis and to do the possible differential diagnosis. At the end of the course the student will be able to apply the knowledge acquired about the principal autoimmune and allergic diseses.

Course unit content

The porpouse of the study is to described the physiopathology of the most important immuno-mediated diseases. In particular, example of diseases based on tipe I,II,III, IV hypersensitivity and immunodeficiencies.

Teaching methods

In the context of frontal lessons some clinical examples of diseases of immune system will be introduced and debated.

Assessment methods and criteria

Oral and written examination with assessment of the competences about the main mechanism of immune-diseases.
