Learning objectives

Knowledge of the relevance of Occupational Medicine; knowledge of safety regulations and prevention of occupational risks in the healthcare sector. Epidemiology of the most important work-related pathologies. Knowledge of the main risks for workers due to chemical, physical, biological agents, ergonomic factors, psychosocial factors; prevention and proception of workers.

The Occupational Medicine in the regulatory system of prevention and safety at the workplace. European and national regulations for safety and prevention in the workplace.
Responsibility of the employer, the manager, the person in charge of the worker, the employee. Occupational hazards in the health field.
Chemical agents: main risk factors, endogenous targets, pathological mechanisms, safety data sheets, labeling, prevention and protection.
Physical agents: main risk factors, endogenous targets, pathological mechanisms, prevention and protection.
Biological agents: main risk factors, endogenous targets, pathological mechanisms, prevention and protection.
Ergonomic risks: main risk factors, endogenous targets, pathological mechanisms, prevention and protection.

Lectures will be held on-site in compliance with safety standards, provided that further instructions on the ongoing health emergency are not implemented.
