Learning objectives
The course aims to enable the student to learn and understand through lectures and interactive practices, the principles of instrumental examination of the eye, the correct use of contact lenses, and the different options of refractive surgery. It also provides the basic elements for the interpretation of these information in order to gain the ability to use the knowledge and understanding on their own.
LEARNING OUTCOMES
The student at the end of the course, using the knowledge of anatomy and physiopathology previously acquired, must demonstrate knowledge and understanding the new information.
The student also applying the knowledge and understanding acquired, shall be able, even collaborating with other professionals, to be able to exploit the new expertise their own.

Course unit content
Diagnostic instruments for the examination of the eye structures and for the evaluation and measurement of visual function.
Principles of fluorescence angiography of the retina.
Different types of contact lenses for the correction of refraction errors, as well as for therapeutic and cosmetic eye care.
Principles of refractive surgery.
Learning disabilities: hints of orthoptic rehabilitation

Teaching methods
The course will be conducted through face-to-face in-person (classroom) lectures. Lectures may be conducted with the help of iconographic material collected in presentations that will be made available to students on the Elly platform (https://elly.medicina.unipr.it).
