Why in Parma?
The three-year degree course in Healthcare Assistance is the result of the inter-university collaboration between the University of Modena and Reggio Emilia and the University of Parma. It qualifies for the profession of Healthcare Assistant, the professional in charge of prevention, promotion and health education in all phases of life.
During the training programme the student acquires knowledge of clinical-etiology, public health and preventive medicine, health education, psycho-pedagogical and communication sciences to develop the skills necessary to implement appropriate and effective preventive and educational interventions, to protect and promote the health of individuals of all ages and conditions, in the light of the best available scientific evidence and in compliance with the ethical and deontological principles of the profession.
The training programme includes theoretical didactic activities articulated in lectures, seminar activities, group work and practical activities in laboratories and professional internships.

After graduation
The master's degree course in "Prevention Sciences of the Health Professions" prepares students for the role of Director of the health professions in the National Health Service. The degree in Healthcare qualifies for the profession of Healthcare Assistant, working as an employee or as a freelancer in the following areas:
- the public sector in various services and departments of Local Health Units (AUSL), Hospitals and University Hospitals, Scientific Research and Treatment Institutes (IRCCS), Universities, INAIL, INPS;
- the private sector as an employee or freelancer, in different Services of Health Care Facilities, Social Health, Outpatient and Cooperative, Professional Studies, Services Company. The CLA degree in Health Care allows registration in first-timeMaster’s degree courses in specialized areas of prevention and health education and in the coordination of operational units or services.
The degree in Health Care Assistance enables enrolment in first-level master's degree courses in specialised areas of prevention and health education and in the coordination of operational units or services.
