Course presentation

The degree course in Social and Clinical Applied Psychology (class LM-51), which is part of the Psychological and Social Studies Unit of the Department of Humanities, Social Sciences and Cultural Industries, offers highly specialised training aimed at the world of psychological professions.

The overall objective of the course is to meet the growing demand for the design, management and evaluation of psychological interventions. This demand comes from numerous contexts and institutions working in the field of education, responding to social needs or from the perspective of health psychology.

The course curriculum is oriented towards the consolidation and deepening of theoretical knowledge in the psychological disciplines, which will be supplemented with adequate training in the tools of research methodology and intervention, necessary for effective professional action. In particular, the course trains graduates capable of formulating primary and secondary prevention interventions, as well as taking charge of emotional, relational, social and cognitive problems in the different areas mentioned and throughout life.

Interdisciplinary higher education is complemented by innovative research programmes, laboratories and internship activities, which can be carried out in cooperation with numerous specialised facilities in the region. Internships and/or study periods in European universities for important international partnerships are also possible.
