Research topics

The course aims to provide students with a higher level scientific preparation in the vast area of information technologies, which includes in particular the scientific-disciplinary sectors ING-INF/01, ING-INF/02, ING-INF/03, ING -INF /04, ING-INF /05 and ING-INF /07, to which the ING-IND/32 sector refers for the applications and the MAT/09 sector for the methodological aspects.
Doctoral students will have to acquire skills in the specific disciplinary fields of the doctoral course, both through the provision of courses held by professors of the Information Unit or by external professors, and through research activity under the supervision of a tutor and with the availability of adequate bibliographic resources and adequate hardware and software resources within the various laboratories in which the Information unit is divided. PhD students must also acquire adequate language skills, demonstrating the ability to produce scientific articles in English and to present their research activities in the context of international conferences. Finally, PhD students will have to acquire skills in the drafting of research projects and patenting.
In summary, the final objective of the course is to prepare future doctors to enter the world of research in the academic and industrial fields, nationally and internationally.
