Learning objectives

The main objective of the course is to provide students with the knowledge on the scientific literature on the fundamental topics related to sport and training.
1. Knowledge and understanding.
At the end of the course the student knows the foundation of the scientific literature on sport and training.
2. Applying knowledge and understanding.
At the end of the course the student knows the most recognized international scientists on the area of sport and training.
3. Making judgements.
At the end of the course the student is able to have a critical thinking on a scientific research.
4. Communication skills.
At the end of the course the student is able to present a scientific article using a scientific language.
5. Learning skills.
At the end of the course the student is able to read, understand, and synthesize a scientific article.

Course unit content

The didactic program focuses on the fundamental topics related to sport and training, like maximal oxygen consumption, blood lactate, stretch-shortening cycle, concurrent training, pacing strategy, perceived effort, session-RPE, fatigue, training intensity distribution.
