Learning objectives

The laboratory aims to promote:
- Knowledge about autobiographical narrative as an instrument for
research and psychological intervention on life stories;
- knowledge of main techniques for the analysis of an autobiographical
text;
- ability to design a narrative research through the use of
autobiographical writing.
Knowledge of basic psychological concepts, such as Identity and Self.

Prerequisites

Knowledge of basic psychological concepts, such as narrative thinking,
identity and Self.

Course unit content

The laboratory aims to examine some basic concepts of autobiographical
narrative as a tool for the analysis of identity in different developmental
and vulnerable
contexts.

Full programme

Autobiographical writing as a tool of psychological research and clinical
intervention; the main
features of autobiographical narrative; Self and emotional indicators in
the autobiographical teaxt; the using of keywords to
build categories for the analysis of autobiographical text.

Bibliography

The study of the topics of the laboratory will be through the study of
some research papers that will be identified and selected with the
students during the lessons.
Al the material will be on platform Elly.

Teaching methods

The laboratory will take place in the presence, with an interactive lesson
characterized by an active participation of the
students: discussion in large groups and exercises in small groups and/or
individually.
Preparation of briefs reports.

Assessment methods and criteria

The final test will consist in the analysis of an autobiographical text
through the lenses introduced during the laboratory. The laboratory will
be approved if the student proves to be able to apply the acquired
knowledge.
