Course presentation - video

Why in Parma?

The degree course represents an innovative approach on the Italian university scene: it integrates managerial culture and technological/scientific input, with the objective of forming professionals capable of interpreting and managing the agrifood system's issues. The course was founded in the heart of the Food Valley and brings together the scientific research and accreditation tradition of the three Departments involved, Economic and Business Sciences, Chemical, Life and Sustainability Sciences, and Food and Drug Sciences.

The course is divided into 2 highly specialized curricula, and all the teachings in the third year are differentiated according to the chosen curriculum:

- Food Management curriculum: explores the main issues related to the management of agri-food systems and supply chains from the products' value creation perspective, with particular reference to cultural and sustainability aspects.

- Food Science curriculum: develops the knowledge and tools to understand the agrifood product in its organoleptic components and  guarantees health, safety and quality while respecting the environmental, economic and social sustainability.
