Course presentation - video

Why in Parma?

The course will enable you to develop strongly multidisciplinary professional skills at the intersection of psychology, behavioural biology and cognitive neuroscience, within an integrated training project.

You will have the opportunity to study with some of the best psychobiologists and cognitive neuroscientists in our country and acquire the theoretical and methodological tools to pursue the profession of psychologist with a solid scientific basis.

You will learn about general and physiological psychology, developmental psychology, neuropsychology, elements of psychiatry and psychopharmacology, applied statistics, behavioural biology, ethology and cognitive neuroscience.

As of academic year 2023-24, the course requires the completion of 20 CFUs of practical work experience (PTV), which is necessary to obtain the licence to work as a psychologist, which is awarded at the end of the master's degree course, in conjunction with the final examination (dissertation). The PTV is mainly performed at institutions affiliated with the university.

To obtain the licence, you must have acquired an additional 10 CFU of TPV during your bachelor's degree course. In the event of a total or partial lack of these CFU, you must obtain them during your master's degree course.

The licence to practise as a psychologist is awarded by passing the TPV test, and also requires enrolment in the professional register.
