Integrated course unit module: HYGIENE, PUBLIC HEALTH AND HEALTH POLICIES

Learning objectives

This course of study aims to teach the student to deal with clinical
problems of patients suffering from the most common diseases of
General Medicine.
The student must be:
- able to make a clinical investigation plan for diagnosis,
- able to evaluate clinical and instrumental data in differential diagnosis,
make a therapeutic, pharmacological and non-pharmacological plan for
the acute disease and chronic phase, know to apply preventive
measures.
It also aims to introduce the student the reality of the territory that
includes all the services provided by USL, including the role of the
general practitioner.

Prerequisites

Knowledge of semeiotics and clinical methodology, pathophysiology and
pharmacology.

health promotion and screening, taking charge from the development of the
symptoms with differential diagnosis, framing in the diagnostic
treatment (PDTA) of the single pathology or non
complex.
Outpatient and home care coordination for diseases
single or multiple conditions (TISE/CASE MANAGEMENT).
The coordination of outpatient and home care of frail patients
with multiple morbidities.
Coordination of home-based end-of-life care of terminally ill patients.
The development of integration with the territory through ADIs (Assisted
Integrated Home Care), intermediate care, community hospitals.
The development of integration with the hospital through UMMs.
The services of the territory in health houses.

Basic medicine as told to medical students Part 1
The Eco-assisted visit: execution of the examination, indications and its
objectives in thoraco-abdominal pathology.

Family medicine at the time of the Coronavirus and the role of the family

Assessment methods and criteria

The module is an integral part of the course "Hygiene, public health and health policies"
The course includes a single final written exam.
The final evaluation will take place through a multiple-choice quiz conducted on ELLY platform. The test will last 45 minutes and will consist of 31 multiple-choice questions. The test will cover all the topics covered in all modules of the course.
One point is assigned to each correct answer, and the minimum score to pass the test is 18. The test is evaluated on a scale of 0-31. A student who achieves the maximum score (31) will receive honors.
